SUMMARY:Call for Submissions -- in Gratitude of Seattle Public Parks
DESCRIPTION:We are asking individuals to share memories\, photos\, artwork or other mementos that express appreciation for Seattle’s public parks and boulevards. These submissions will then be compiled in a slideshow to share with the wider community. \nOur city parks\, parkways and green spaces serve a vital role in making Seattle livable\, not just by providing recreational outlets but also by providing natural settings wherein one can find solace and reprieve from the urban environment. Our parkways and boulevards traverse many of our city’s neighborhoods and provide green connections to these parks and open spaces. Despite these benefits\, however\, our parks are frequently under pressure to convert to other\, more programmed and active\, uses. We’d like to celebrate this auspicious anniversary and our natural environment by compiling and broadcasting messages and images of gratitude and appreciation for our city parks. \nSubmissions should formatted to a single page. Digital submissions only. Deadline for submissions is Saturday\, April 18. \n
