2020 Green-Duwamish Watershed Symposium: Climate Change Resiliency “Engage, Innovate and Change ”
February 24, 2020
Join us for our 3rd biennial symposium on the Green-Duwamish Watershed as we focus on not only planning for a sustainable, but a resilient future in the era of Climate Change. As we gain a deeper understanding of the impacts of Climate Change, how we address its challenges and find opportunities will shape our region’s future. To be successful, we need to have an integrated effort across all organizations, agencies, disciplines, locations and cultures. The Green-Duwamish Watershed is one of our nation’s most complex watersheds, from Seattle to Mt Rainier and has been identified by American Rivers as one of the top ten most endangered.
We not only seek to inform professionals and leadership, but also our next generations by including an educator track for grades 8 – 12th to provide information on current, local issues for teachers to incorporate in their classrooms and opportunities for students to get involved. The symposium is a one day event, giving exposure and promoting connections among the broad and diverse work being done within the watershed and the opportunity to network with individuals across fields (technical and non-technical), locations, cultures, organizations and settings. Online registration and general information can be found at GreenDuwamishWatershed.org Direct questions to firstname.lastname@example.org
