Restoration Work Party at Camp Long

Restoration Work Party at Camp Long

Date: Saturday, April 18th

Time: 10:00am-2:00pm

Location: Camp Long (5200 35th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98126)

In honor of Earth Day 2020, the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Nature Consortium and Earth Corps will be co-hosting a fun and vibrant volunteer work party at Camp Long as part of a Duwamish Alive! day of service. Past Earth Day events have brought hundreds of volunteers to our sites in an annual collaboration dating back to 2006. Earth Day volunteers provide a crucial boost to year-round efforts aimed at restoring sites to healthy, evergreen forest. Volunteer restoration work will include invasive plant removal, mulching, and site maintenance. Our Earth Day work party will be accompanied by live musicians, bringing a fun creative element to our restoration tasks. Pizza will be provided at the end to celebrate everyone’s hard work!

We ask that volunteers wear long pants, warm and dry layers, closed-toed shoes and rain gear as needed. We will provide gloves, tools, a light granola bar snack (feel free to bring a lunch) and extra water. Please bring a refillable water bottle.

Both group and individual registration for this event is now open.
